Pollard/Brophy of Ballingarry, Tipperary

Patrick Pollard - 06:18pm Sep 4, 2002 Irish

GGrandfather Patrick Pollard b. 1842? Ballingarry (Tinock)? Parents names on D.C. were Michael Pollard and Anty Brophy (Anastasia). Possible siblings of Patrick Pollard are Brid,Ellen,Mary,Judith,Catherine, Anastasia,William,Thomas, James and Michael. Birth years start at 1834-1859. Patrick and William immigrated to Brooklyn NY and appear in business directories in 1888 or so . Looking for descendants of the Michael Pollard and Anty Brophy blood line. Appears that many Pollard Brophy marriages occurred in Ballingary area. Any help or possible connections are appreciated.

That's a coincidence Alan,we share the same set of great grandparents.Johanna Pollard was married to Murtagh Lawlor from the commons in Ballingarry.I believe Johanna pollard's mother was called Anastacia as I remember my grandfather Thomas Lawlor talking about his grandmother Stacia Pollard.

Hi Alice, Thank you for your reply.Yes indeed, you must have met me when I was a small child. You and my father are first cousins. We were looking for evidence that Tom and Catherine were Johanna's parents and it's good to know this for sure now.Do you have any information on Patrick Lalor's background? It's great to know that Alice did a family tree and that we can keep the information for future generations. Sinead.

I think I may be related to all of you. My great grandmother was Mary Pollard, whose parents were Thomas Pollard and Catherine Ryan. Mary was born in 1879 and had 3 sisters and 4 brothers. The oldest daughter Kate married a Kennedy and moved to Australia, but she also had sisters Lizzie and Johanna. Mary went to America with her brother Micahel and his wife, but she and Johanna wrote letters to each other. Johanna and her son Patrick were living in Thurles, and their last name seemed to be Lalor. Johanna also had other sons who worked in coalmines and lived in Killenaule. Johanna also had daughters Bridget, Katie, and Alice, who's last name was O'Rourke. I am currently in Ireland for 4 months and I was wondering where the descendents were still living.

Hi all, Was just checking this site out, I have posted a message for CONNOR/O'CONNOR, and came across the message for POLLARD/BROPHY and in my family lines there is a KENNEDY married to Catherine (kate) POLLARD in 1886. Kate was b.1865 and d.1938 in Mt. Perry, Queensland, Australia. Thomas O'CONNOR who married Kate was one of the children of Thomas KENNEDY and Ellen O'CONNOR. Three KENNEDY boys married three O'CONNOR girls, Ellen, Mary and Hannorah. If anyone has anymore info. on this group or maybe I could send some to anyone wanting some. My info. came from someone else but I think it is pretty right, or someone could maybe check? There is also a MURPHY popped up too! Look forward to hearing from you! Thanks. Rhonda

Hello all, Just going through a d. certf. of Catherine (Kate) KENNEDY nee POLLARD. What I am wondering about is on the certf. the parents are Thomas POLLARD and Catherine HAYES, but in other areas the mothers name seems to be RYAN. What I am wondering is, could there have been another wife? Also has anyone got a HAYES in their family history. thanks....bee
